Rental terms.

These terms cover the rental of moving bins and related equipment from Midwest Moving Bins ("we", "us"). By booking, you ("you") agree to them. If you don't, please don't book.

1. What you are renting

You are renting plastic moving bins and accessories for a fixed period. You are not buying them. Title stays with us at all times, and you may not sell, sublet, lend, pledge, or permanently mark them.

2. Rental period

The standard period is seven days from the date we deliver. You choose longer periods at booking. Your period ends on the collection date shown in your confirmation.

If your move runs over, tell us. We do not charge for the first extra day. Beyond that, additional weeks are billed at the rate shown for your package ($35 for the 20 bin package, $55 for the 40 bin package), charged in whole weeks.

3. Delivery and collection

Delivery and collection within our published service area are included in the price. We text a two-hour window the night before delivery.

Someone must be present at delivery to direct where bins go. You do not need to be present for collection — leave the bins accessible and stacked where we can reach them.

If bins are not accessible at the agreed collection time, we may charge a $35 return trip fee. We will always call you first.

4. Your responsibilities

• Do not exceed 50 pounds per bin.
• Do not use tape or adhesive labels on the bins. Zip ties are provided for sealing, and colour labels are provided for the lids.
• Do not place liquids, hazardous, flammable, corrosive, perishable, or wet items in the bins.
• Do not store bins outdoors, near heat sources, or anywhere they will be damaged.
• Keep the bins at the addresses given at booking unless you tell us otherwise.
• Return the bins empty. You do not need to wash them.

5. Damage, loss and charges

You are responsible for bins from delivery until collection. If a bin is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond normal wear, the following charges apply to the card on file:

Normal wear — scuffs, scratches, marks from ordinary use — is expected and never charged for. We photograph bins at delivery and collection and will share those photos with you on request.

6. Cancellation

• More than 48 hours before delivery: free, refunded in full.
• Within 48 hours of delivery: $50.
• After bins have been delivered: $99, and the rental fee is not refunded.

If we cannot deliver for a reason within our control, you pay nothing and we refund you in full.

7. Payment

Payment is taken by card at booking through Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Additional charges under sections 2, 3 or 5 are charged to the same card, and we will contact you before charging anything beyond the original booking.

8. Cleanliness

Every bin is emptied, washed and dried between rentals. If a bin arrives in a condition you're not happy with, text us and we will replace it.

9. Liability

We are responsible for providing clean, functional bins and for delivering and collecting them as agreed. We are not responsible for damage to items you pack, for how you pack them, or for injury arising from lifting or moving loaded bins. Bins are equipment, not a packing service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from a rental is limited to the amount you paid for that rental. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Illinois law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

10. Refusing or ending a rental

We may decline a booking or end a rental early if bins are being used in a way that breaks these terms, if we cannot safely service an address, or if payment fails. We will tell you why.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts serving Cook County, Illinois.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your rental is the one published when you booked, and we will keep prior versions available on request.
